About the Program:
Ready to launch your career in mining? Whitehaven is seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our 2027 Graduate Program. Designed to develop the next generation of industry professionals and future leaders, this two-year program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a leading Australian resources company.
Through a combination of practical on-the-job learning, structured development activities and mentoring from experienced site hosts, you'll build the technical and professional skills needed to succeed. You'll also participate in a rotation program, providing exposure to a variety of operational environments, helping you develop a broad understanding of our business and the role you play in its success.
Rotations are based across our operations in the Gunnedah and Narrabri regions of New South Wales, Blackwater and Moranbah in Queensland, and our corporate offices in Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane.
What You'll Do:
- Support geotechnical and hydrogeological monitoring activities across mining operations.
- Assist with field inspections, data collection, geological mapping and technical reporting.
- Analyse monitoring data related to slope stability, groundwater, ground movement and site conditions.
- Contribute to investigations involving ground conditions, water management and operational risk.
- Develop skills in geotechnical and hydrogeological monitoring systems, databases and reporting tools.
- Collaborate with technical services and production teams to support safe and efficient mining activities.
What You'll Bring:
- A degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
