The Role
We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager / Business Development Manager to drive sales growth, develop new business opportunities, and strengthen customer relationships in the food manufacturing industry. This role is ideal for someone who understands the health food market, takes ownership, and represents the company professionally and positively at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to increase revenue, expand market share of own brand products.
- Identify and secure new customers across retail, wholesale, private label, and distributor channels.
- Manage and grow existing customer relationships through regular follow-ups and proactive communication.
- Develop business opportunities and contribute to long-term growth strategies.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and consumer insights within the health food industry.
- Provide ideas and suggestions for new products, concepts, and market opportunities.
- Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and updates for management.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, meetings, conversations, and customer interactions.
- Collaborate with internal teams including production, procurement, and finance to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Represent the company at meetings, trade shows, and industry events in a professional and positive manner.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales or business development within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of the Australian FMCG and health food market.
- Advantage if you have experience selling health bars, protein bars, or functional nutrition products.
- Ability to identify market trends and translate them into business opportunities.
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to take ownership of situations.
- Excellent organisational and reporting skills with consistent follow-up on leads and customers.
- Sound knowledge of ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Exposure to or understanding of AI tools and technologies would be highly regarded.
- Professional presentation and the ability to represent the company positively with customers and stakeholders.
