DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKERS – CASUAL/RELIEF
Private Respite and Accommodation Services (PRAS) is seeking reliable and compassionate female Disability Support Workers to join our team and provide relief and backup support for two female participants.
Both participants require continuous support, so we are particularly looking for workers who are dependable, flexible and willing to assist with planned leave, staff absences and occasional shifts at short notice. There may also be opportunities for regular ongoing shifts.
The participants include:
- A woman with cerebral palsy who requires assistance with her daily support needs.
- A woman with Autism and Down syndrome who enjoys dancing, musicals, going to the theatre, cafés, exercise and community activities.
Depending on the participant and shift, support may include:
- Assistance with daily living and personal care
- Supporting choice, independence and dignity of risk
- Medication assistance
- Meal preparation and household tasks
- Community access and social activities
- Following individual support plans and established routines
- Completing clear and accurate shift documentation
- Providing consistent, respectful and person-centred support
We would love to hear from workers who are:
- Reliable and committed to attending accepted shifts
- Calm, patient and respectful
- Comfortable working independently in a participant’s home
- Able to build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
- Available across a combination of weekdays, evenings, weekends and/or overnight shifts
- Willing to provide relief coverage when regular workers are unavailable
Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Current driver’s licence and reliable, insured vehicle
- Relevant experience or qualifications in disability support are highly regarded
Participant-specific training and orientation will be provided before working independently.
Employment type: Casual
Location: Newtown and Grovedale
Pay: In accordance with the SCHADS Award, including applicable casual loading, penalty rates and allowances.
