Position Overview
As a Doggy Daycare Attendant, you’ll be responsible for the daily care, supervision, and enrichment of dogs in our facility. You’ll ensure their safety, encourage positive social behaviours, and maintain a clean, welcoming environment. This is a hands-on role that requires passion for animals, physical stamina, and strong teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and interact with groups of dogs during playtime to ensure safe and positive interactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of play areas and staff areas within the building.
- Feed dogs and monitor dog behaviour in group settings
- Manage check-in and check-out processes, including customer communication and dog handling.
- Observe and record any unusual behaviours or health issues, reporting them to management promptly.
- Provide affection, enrichment, and mental stimulation for all dogs in care.
- Perform daily admin tasks (emails, calls, record keeping, data entry).
- Conduct temperament assessments.
- Capture photos/videos and create social media content.
Requirements
- Certificate II in Animal Studies (or equivalent)
- Ability to handle multiple dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically capable of standing, walking, and lifting up to 15kg.
- Availability to do opens/closes roughly 3-5 days a week (15-25hrs).
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Basic social media content creation skills (Facebook & Instagram).
- Current driver’s licence.
- Legal right to work in Australia.
- CPR/First Aid certification for pets is a plus.
Schedule
Rotating roster from Monday-Friday (hours from 7am-6:30pm). Closed on weekends and public holidays.
