Full-time | North Sydney | Predominantly office-based
Frontier Travel is a leading premium leisure travel agency specialising in luxury hotels, premium cruises and tailor-made travel. We are a Virtuoso member with office-based teams in North Sydney and Hobart, as well as a broader network of independent travel advisors.
We are looking for a Business Systems Lead to help us further develop the systems, data and processes that support our business.
Salesforce sits at the centre of our systems environment. You will help administer and develop it, working closely with our Operations Manager. The role extends beyond Salesforce, however, and you will also help us connect and improve the wider range of platforms used across the business, develop useful reporting, document processes and identify practical applications for emerging technology, particularly AI.
This is a varied role for someone who enjoys understanding how a business works, finding better ways to do things and carrying an idea through from the initial problem to a completed solution.
Location and working arrangements
This role is based in our North Sydney office and is not suitable for a fully remote working arrangement. Some work-from-home flexibility is currently available, but this is not fixed and may change. Applicants should be comfortable working from the North Sydney office for the majority of the week and attending more frequently when required.
What you will do
- Help administer and develop our Salesforce environment, including objects, fields, page layouts, flows, permissions and user access
- Maintain data integrity and troubleshoot systems issues
- Understand the systems that connect with Salesforce and identify opportunities to improve how they work together
- Help assess and implement new technology and integrations
- Build reports and dashboards that provide useful visibility over business performance and operations
- Analyse data to identify trends, risks and opportunities
- Document internal processes and create clear, practical standard operating procedures
- Explore practical ways to use AI to improve everyday work
- Manage systems and operational projects from initial scoping through to implementation
- Work with internal teams and external technology providers to resolve issues and deliver improvements
- Help team members understand and make effective use of new systems and processes
About you
You may already have Salesforce administration experience, or your background may be in another database, CRM or business system. Salesforce experience would be advantageous, but it is not essential if you can demonstrate that you understand how databases and connected systems work and can learn unfamiliar platforms quickly.
You will also bring:
- Experience working with databases, CRMs or other business systems
- Strong data literacy and the ability to turn information into useful reporting and insights
- An interest in systems integration and how different platforms work together
- Confidence learning and configuring new software
- An interest in AI and its practical application in everyday work
- Clear written communication and the ability to document processes
- The ability to manage a project from beginning to end
- A practical, lateral approach to solving problems
- Initiative, accountability and close attention to accuracy
- The ability to explain systems and processes clearly to people with different levels of technical knowledge
Experience with travel industry technology would be useful but is not essential. Tertiary qualifications in IT, business or a related field are also desirable but not required.
The kind of person who will suit this role
This role will suit someone who is curious, adaptable and comfortable working across different systems and business needs. You will enjoy trying new things, knowing that not every idea will prove to be the right one. You will be willing to get into the detail while also being able to step back and understand the broader purpose of a project.
You will work at a good pace without compromising accuracy, take ownership of problems and look beyond the most obvious solution. You do not need to already know every platform we use, but you will need to be interested in learning them.
Why join Frontier Travel?
There is something genuinely exciting about working in travel. While this is not a sales or client-facing position, the systems you build will directly support the advisors creating exceptional holidays and travel experiences for our clients.
You will also be part of the wider life of the business and industry, including supplier presentations, product updates, industry events and team occasions. It is an environment where there is always a new destination, hotel, cruise or travel experience to learn about.
You will be joining a growing business that is actively investing in its systems, data and technology. This is an opportunity to have a meaningful influence over how those systems develop and how they support the people using them.
Rather than maintaining a fixed technology environment, you will help shape what comes next.
Applicants must have full, unrestricted working rights in Australia. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
To apply, please submit your CV together with a brief cover letter outlining your experience with databases or business systems and an example of a systems or process improvement you have delivered.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
Application Question(s):
- What interests you about applying your systems and technology experience within the travel industry?
- Tell us about a database, CRM or business system you have configured, improved or helped implement. What was your role, and what changed as a result?
- Do you have permanent work rights in Australia with no restrictions?
