As part of our continued growth in regional Western Australia, we are seeking an experienced Industrial Spraypainter to join our Kalgoorlie operations.
About the Role
Working within both workshop and field environments, you will prepare and apply industrial protective coating systems to mining and industrial equipment while maintaining high standards of quality, workmanship and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing steel and other surfaces through abrasive blasting, grinding, sanding and cleaning.
- Mixing and applying industrial protective coatings using conventional and airless spray equipment.
- Applying epoxy, polyurethane, zinc-rich primers and specialised industrial coating systems.
- Painting structural steel, conveyors, tanks, chutes, piping and associated mining and industrial equipment.
- Inspecting prepared surfaces and completed coatings to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Reading and interpreting work instructions, coating specifications and technical documentation.
- Operating, cleaning and maintaining spray painting and blasting equipment.
- Completing workshop, shutdown and site-based maintenance activities.
- Maintaining accurate job records and complying with company safety, environmental and quality procedures.
Skills & Experience
To be successful you will have:
- Demonstrated experience as an Industrial Spraypainter applying industrial protective coating systems.
- Experience working within mining, resources, manufacturing or other heavy industry environments.
- Knowledge of industrial coating systems and surface preparation techniques.
- Ability to safely operate industrial spray painting equipment.
- Current unrestricted driver's licence or the ability to obtain an Australian driver's licence upon commencement.
- Ability to travel and work at customer sites throughout regional Western Australia where required.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
