Transform Mental Healthcare with Us
At The Talbot Centre, we are not just part of the healthcare system—we are here to transform it. We believe every person deserves to know their worth, feel a sense of belonging, and be supported to grow into their full potential. Our mission is to challenge the status quo and pioneer a new kind of person-centred care—one that is deeply human, accessible, and empowering. We are reimagining healthcare, breaking down barriers, and creating real change for individuals, families, and communities.
If you’re driven by purpose and want to be part of something bigger, this is where you belong.
Be Part of a Movement, Not Just a Workplace: Our Approach to Eating Disorders Care
At The Talbot Centre, we are at the forefront of evolving evidence-based eating disorder treatment to be more holistic, inclusive, affirming, and responsive to real-world complexity. We recognise that traditional treatments have often failed to meet the needs of clients from diverse backgrounds, neurodivergent populations, larger bodies, and those with complex presentations.
Our fat-positive, neurodiversity-affirming, and trauma-informed approach challenges diet culture, reduces stigma, and prioritises autonomy in recovery. We value lived experience perspectives alongside research and clinical expertise, ensuring our work is both evidence-based and deeply human. Within our multidisciplinary team, we provide collaborative, whole-person care that adapts to the needs of each individual.
If you're passionate about shaping the future of eating disorder care and working in a team committed to innovation and inclusivity, we'd love to hear from you.
Build Your Career, Your Way
We recognise that career satisfaction looks different for everyone, so we work with our psychologists to design roles that align with their passions and aspirations. Whether you’re an early career psychologist, an experienced clinician, or a leader looking for new opportunities, we have a place for you.
- Graduate Program – Full-time, employed structured development pathway with extensive training & supervision. This pathway is suitable for clinical registrars and early career psychologists with full registration.
- Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist – Flexible opportunities (3-5 days employed or 1-2 days contracting).
- Leadership & Supervision – Pathways to Board Approved Supervision, team leadership, and service innovation. We currently have opportunities for new and experienced supervisors and a clinical team lead position available.
Our preference is to engage someone in an employed capacity part time or full time (3-5 days per week), however, we are open to contracting (1-2 days per week) for the right applicant.
We would love to hear from you if you are passionate about working with patients and families with eating and feeding disorders (or our other areas of interest). Prior experience working with these populations is desirable, however, if you have a strong interest to learn about providing services for this population we can provide all necessary training in house. There are also opportunities to work with a broader client group in addition to eating disorders and/or to work within our feeding clinic, should this be desirable.
Why The Talbot Centre?
At The Talbot Centre, we don’t just offer jobs—we offer a place to belong. We’re looking for someone who isn’t just searching for their next role, but a team where they can grow, thrive, and make a real impact for years to come. We are not a private practice; we are a private outpatient service with a unique organisational structure designed to provide the best possible support for our staff which in turn results in the highest quality care for our community. If you're looking for a meaningful, long-term career in a workplace that truly values you, we’d love to hear from you.
The Talbot Centre is a multi-award-winning, premier healthcare service in Northwest Sydney. We were awarded Team Culture Excellence at the Australian Allied Health Awards in 2024, reflecting our commitment to a supportive and thriving workplace. Our director is also a past recipient of the Excellence in Allied Health Leadership & Management Award (2021). As we can no longer consistently meet the demand for our services and aim to keep wait times as short as possible for our patients, we are looking to add an additional psychologist to our team.
As a practice we have a niche focus on eating and feeding disorders, with multidisciplinary services running through The Talbot Centre for Eating Behaviour. We have excellent facilities setup to support this work with a purpose planned kitchen and dining area as well as ongoing internal training and support to continue to develop skills in working with this population. We work within a neurodiverse affirming and fat positive philosophy of care.
We also have other niche interests in obsessive compulsive and related disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma and complex presentations, child & family services and working with clients with a Christian faith. Our team members also have their own individual interests and niche focuses. We have strong partnerships within our local community and a strong focus on education and learning for professionals and community members.
Our team includes psychologists of varying backgrounds and experience levels, dietitians, speech pathologists, and a paediatrician (with further expansion of services planned within the next 12 months).
