Position Overview
The Junior Project Manager (IT) will assist in managing IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring project objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards are achieved. This role is ideal for an emerging project management professional looking to build a career in technology project delivery while working closely with senior project managers, stakeholders, and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring IT projects throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the development of project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk registers.
- Coordinate project meetings, workshops, and stakeholder communications.
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and action items to ensure timely completion.
- Prepare project documentation, status reports, presentations, and meeting minutes.
- Monitor project risks, issues, and dependencies and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
- Support software implementations, system upgrades, infrastructure projects, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Maintain project records and ensure compliance with project governance standards.
- Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment activities, and post-project reviews.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and methodologies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in project coordination, project administration, business analysis, or IT support roles.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Asana, Monday.com, or Trello.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or Hybrid project methodologies.
- CAPM, PRINCE2 Foundation, Agile, or other entry-level project management certifications.
- Exposure to software development, cloud technologies, or enterprise IT environments.
