Work in one of Queensland’s most iconic waterfront hospitality venues over the summer months. As we build into the warmer months we are seeking chefs to assist our team with all services from breakfast-dinner, including functions.
The Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron (RQYS) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Casual Chef/s to join our kitchen team. Located on the beautiful Manly waterfront, RQYS operates a busy members’ dining precinct, bistro, café and function venue, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and special events seven days a week.
This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing quality food.
About the Role
Working an assortment of shifts, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service while assisting with kitchen preparation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking bmenu items to a consistently high standard
- Preparing cabinet items and grab-and-go products
- Assisting with mise en place for bistro and functions
- Maintaining a clean, organised and compliant kitchen
- Ensuring food safety and HACCP standards are met
- Working collaboratively with our Executive Chef and kitchen team
- Assisting with stock rotation and minimising food waste
About You
You will:
- Have previous experience as a bistro or café chef
- Be confident cooking à la carte service
- Have excellent time management and organisational skills
- Thrive in a busy, team-focused environment
- Hold current Food Handlers Certificate
- Be reliable, punctual and take pride in your work
- Have full Australian working rights
