SER Advisor
TSS Group is seeking an experienced Safety & Emergency Response Advisor to join the site-based team.
This is a hands-on operational role responsible for supporting site safety, emergency response and occupational health services in a remote mining environment. Working closely with employees, contractors and supervisors, the role combines frontline safety engagement with emergency response capability and medical support to help maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
About the Role
Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, the Safety & Emergency Response Advisor supports high standards of health, safety and risk management across all site activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Safety
Actively engaging with frontline teams to identify hazards, verify critical controls and promote safe work practices
Supporting the implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of site safety systems, procedures and standards
Participating in safety inspections, field leadership activities and risk assessments
Supporting incident response, reporting, investigation and learning processes
Medical Support
Applying advanced first aid and medical response capability to manage injuries and medical events in a remote setting
Supporting injury management, return to work processes, early intervention and post-incident medical reviews
Delivering day-to-day first aid care to personnel attending the site and village clinics as required
Emergency Response
Supporting the development and ongoing effectiveness of site emergency preparedness and response arrangements
Maintaining competency in the operation of emergency response tenders, rescue equipment and emergency systems
Participating in emergency response activities as required, including leading ERT when necessary
About You
You are practical, calm under pressure and credible in an operational mining environment. You bring strong emergency response capability alongside sound safety advisory experience.
Essential:
Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue
Advanced First Aid qualification
Certificate IV in Health Care
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in safety advisory roles within mining, resources or heavy industry
Experience operating or supporting emergency response equipment and systems
Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management and safety systems
