Primary objective
To provide support and administration of the physical infrastructure including backups, application hosting and virtualisation
environments.
Context statement
Agency Business Systems (ABS) – Justice and General Government (JGG) manage client agencies’ core business digital
systems through their life cycle from strategy to design, development, release and deployment, operational delivery,
maintenance, support and retirement.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Deliver services to support ICT infrastructure, systems, software in client agency environments.
2. Assist in the provision of strategic advice in relation to services and operating system administration including security,
backup and recovery management and business application service delivery issues.
3. Provide advice, support and administration of server and storage infrastructure environment.
4. Provide technical and system administration services for Windows servers and related software products running on a
variety of hardware platforms and other systems.
5. Undertake research and reporting including the collection, analysis and reporting against performance indicators and
project outcomes.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in the implementation, management or support of ICT solutions and infrastructure.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of midrange products including operating systems, server security,
authentication services and associated technologies.
3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience assisting with the maintenance of complex midrange server environments on
primarily Windows platforms.
4. Ability to organise and prioritise workloads with the ability to work under pressure.
5. Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) and foster teamwork.
6. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical
practice, accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.
Desirable
1. Demonstrated experience in project management and methodologies such as Prince2 and Information Technology
Infrastructure Library (ITIL®).
2. A degree or higher and/or Industry qualifications or equivalent experience in Business Application System (BAS)
environments.

x 7 and participation in an on call roster and some out of hours work may be required.
