Position Purpose:
The Aged and Disabled Carer provides high-quality, person-centered care
and support to older people and individuals living with disability. The role focuses on promoting
independence, dignity, wellbeing, and quality of life for clients in accordance with their care
plans.
Key Responsibilities:
●Providing personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
●Assisting clients with mobility, transfers, and daily living activities.
●Preparing meals and assisting with feeding where required.
●Providing companionship, emotional support, and social interaction.
●Accompanying clients to appointments, community activities, and outings.
●Performing household duties such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe
environment.
●Monitoring clients' wellbeing and reporting changes in health or behaviour.
●Assisting with shopping, errands, and medication reminders.
●Supporting clients to maintain independence and quality of life in their own homes.
Main Tasks / Duties:
●Assisted aged and disabled clients with personal care and daily living activities.
●Provided mobility support and ensured client safety and comfort.
●Prepared meals and assisted with feeding and hydration requirements.
●Delivered emotional support, companionship, and social engagement.
●Performed housekeeping duties, including cleaning and laundry.
●Assisted with shopping, appointments, and community participation.
●Monitored client wellbeing and reported concerns to supervisors and healthcare
professionals.
●Maintained accurate care records and complied with care plans and workplace policies.

Qualifications and Requirements:
●Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing/Disability) or equivalent qualification
(desirable).
●Current First Aid and CPR certification.
●Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role providing support to elderly individuals or
people with disabilities.
●Valid driver's licence and reliable transport.
●Current National Police Check and Working with Children Check (where required).
●COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with government and organisational requirements.

Work Environment: The role involves working in clients' homes, residential aged care settings,
and the community. Carers must be able to manage physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and
assisting with mobility.
Pay: $78,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
