As a Food & Beverage Team Leader, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our restaurant, bar, in-room dining, and events outlets. You'll lead by example, creating memorable guest experiences while supporting and developing your team to deliver service excellence.

Deliver exceptional food and beverage service while promoting outlet specials and hotel initiatives

Lead service shifts and supervise daily restaurant and bar operations to ensure seamless guest experiences

Maintain departmental and InterContinental brand standards, procedures, and service expectations

Assist with preparing outlets for service, including opening, set-up, clearing, re-setting, and closing procedures

Handle guest feedback professionally, resolving concerns promptly and escalating issues where required
-
Communicate guest comments, complaints, and operational updates to management in a timely manner

Support the induction, onboarding, training, and development of team members
-
Foster a positive team culture and maintain effective working relationships across all hotel departments
-
Participate in performance discussions and support team development initiatives

Assist with workforce management activities, including rostering, timesheets, and leave administration through UKG
-
Maintain accurate departmental records, including daily revenue, covers, and operational logbooks
-
Ensure stock is securely stored, appropriately rotated, and replenished to minimise waste
-
Coordinate stocktakes of food, beverage, equipment, and linen, and assist with inventory management and ordering
-
Support the F&B leadership team with operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives
-
Complete ad-hoc duties as required to support the successful operation of the hotel

Support and participate in workplace health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives
-
Assist with investigations into workplace incidents and contribute to corrective actions where required

Identify and report workplace hazards and potential risks
-
Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is used and maintained correctly when required
-
Operate workplace equipment, tools, and safety devices in accordance with policies and procedures
-
Report injuries, illnesses, hazards, and maintenance concerns promptly
-
Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and HACCP compliance across food and beverage operations
-
Support food safety training and refresher programs for team members as required
-
Follow all government legislation, company policies, food safety procedures, and operational standards
-
Promote a safe and positive working environment for colleagues and guests
-
Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, bar, or hospitality environment
-
Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within a food and beverage operation is highly regarded

A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests and colleagues
-
Proven problem-solving abilities and the confidence to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
-
A strong understanding of food and beverage service standards and operational procedures
-
Experience with stock control, inventory management, and cash handling processes

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous

Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification in Victoria
-
Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including lifting, pushing, or pulling items where required
-
Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
