About the role
The Orthopaedic Fellow provides clinical care to orthopaedic inpatients and outpatients under consultant supervision, supports clinical teaching and research activities, and gains broad surgical experience across multiple hospital sites. The role also includes participation in on-call roster coordination and may involve operating fluoroscopy equipment subject to appropriate licensing and credentialing.
Key duties of the role
Provide a professional clinical consultant service to the inpatients and outpatients of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Ensuring that patients/families are given adequate information upon which to base treatment decision and follow-up.
Demonstrate the ability to safely & effectively provide surgical services for children for general paediatric procedures, in children without significant co-morbidities.
Quality management and continuous Improvement of practice and service delivery
Contribute to a positive team culture and safe work environment
Skills and Experience
Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
Minimum 4 years' experience as an Intern, Resident Medical Officer, or Registrar in a recognised teaching hospital, with Advanced Trainee experience.
Extensive clinical experience and demonstrated competence in Orthopaedic Surgery.
Proven experience in clinical teaching, research activities, and multidisciplinary team-based care.
