Primary objective
Lead the strategic development, governance and delivery of complex agency projects, providing authoritative advice, critical
analysis and coordinated oversight on sensitive internal policing matters to support organisational and government priorities.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage the development and delivery of complex projects, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, government
objectives and legislative and policy frameworks.
2. Research, analyse and synthesise complex information relating to organisational projects and prepare high quality briefs,
reports, submissions and correspondence for senior executives.
3. Liaise effectively and professionally with internal staff at all levels within the department, as well as external stakeholders,
ensuring appropriate information access, management and use.
4. Manage information collation, analysis and reporting to ensure, accurate, and reliable project information.
5. Undertake research including collection, analysis and reporting against performance indicators and project outcomes.
6. Undertake project work and provide secretariat support as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven experience leading and delivering complex projects in a large organisation, including planning, governance,
implementation and reporting, while managing competing deadlines and sensitivities.
2. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to liaise, consult, negotiate and build
effective working relationships with senior executives, internal stakeholders and external agencies at all levels, and to
communicate with influence and professionalism.
3. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to interpret legislation, policies, industrial documents, and the ability to develop,
implement and improve efficient, compliant procedures to support organisational requirements.
4. Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality strategic advice on complex organisational issues, including preparing clear,
accurate briefs and submissions for senior decision-makers.
5. Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to work independently, manage competing and changing
priorities, meet tight deadlines, adapt to change and deliver quality outcomes under pressure.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of contemporary project management, reform delivery or organisational policy frameworks within large or
complex organisations.
2. Experience working in, or providing advice to, a law enforcement, emergency services or highly regulated environment.
