About the role
We are seeking an ECT Qualified Nominated Supervisor to join our team at our Wentworthville Centre. This is a full-time position that is responsible for the day-to-day operations, educational programming, staff coordination and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements under the National Quality Framework. You will be the educational leader of the service, overseeing quality outcomes for the children in our care and supporting the development and wellbeing of our dedicated team.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the service as the Nominated Supervisor, providing strong operational, educational and people leadership while maintaining a positive, supportive and collaborative team culture.
- Champion high-quality practice and lead the service’s journey towards achieving and maintaining an Exceeding rating under the National Quality Standard by embedding Exceeding themes into everyday practice.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Law, National Regulations and the Early Years Learning Framework, ensuring the service remains fully compliant at all times.
- Lead the ongoing development, implementation and review of the educational program, mentoring educators to deliver meaningful, child-centred learning experiences and reflective practice.
- Oversee and regularly update the Self-Assessment Tool (SAT), Quality Improvement Plan (QIP), policies, procedures and supporting evidence to ensure they accurately reflect current legislation, service practices and continuous improvement.
- Prepare the service for Assessment and Rating by leading quality improvement initiatives, conducting internal audits and ensuring compliance documentation is current, accurate and demonstrates high-quality practice.
- Mentor, coach and develop educators through regular feedback, professional development, performance management and leadership, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous learning.
- Ensure appropriate staffing arrangements, rostering and day-to-day operations support the effective and efficient running of the service.
- Promote the safety, wellbeing and development of every child by maintaining robust child protection practices, accurate documentation and a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Build strong, respectful partnerships with children, families and the wider community through open communication and meaningful engagement.
- Support occupancy growth by delivering exceptional customer service, building positive family relationships and maintaining a strong reputation within the local community.
- Monitor budgets, resources and operational expenditure to ensure the service remains financially sustainable while delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Liaise professionally with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders, remaining informed of legislative changes and sector best practice, and implementing improvements across the service where required.
What we're looking for
- Early Childhood Teaching (ECT) qualification recognised under the National Quality Framework
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Australian Curriculum and Early Years Learning Framework
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with children, families and staff
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Sound understanding of early childhood development and ability to plan responsive, play-based learning experiences
