About the Role
We are searching for an Urban Planner or Emerging Senior Urban Planner to join our collaborative Urban Futures team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate planner to contribute to projects that shape cities, communities and the built environment across Australia.
Working across a diverse portfolio of strategic and statutory planning projects, you will collaborate with internal design disciplines, clients, government agencies and specialist consultants to deliver thoughtful, evidence-based planning outcomes.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to complex projects across the sector, applying your technical expertise, curiosity and problem-solving skills to help create vibrant, sustainable and resilient places.
Key responsibilities include:

Prepare statutory planning documentation including Statements of Environmental Effects, Environmental Impact Statements, Review of Environmental Factors and other planning reports.

Contribute to strategic planning projects, including master plans, planning proposals, policy reviews and land use strategies.

Undertake research, analysis and interpretation of planning frameworks, legislation, demographic data and site constraints to inform project outcomes.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, government agencies, consultants and community stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.

Support the delivery of projects through effective coordination of timelines, budgets, consultant inputs and quality outcomes.

Build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders while contributing to workshops, presentations and community engagement activities.

Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, while continuing to develop your own planning expertise and professional capability.
About You
You are a motivated and collaborative planner who enjoys solving complex urban challenges and contributing to meaningful projects that have a lasting impact on communities.
You may be an Urban Planner looking to take the next step in your career, or an Emerging Senior Urban Planner seeking greater responsibility, project ownership and opportunities to work alongside experienced industry professionals.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

A tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning, Town Planning, Urban Design or a related discipline.

Experience preparing statutory and/or strategic planning documentation within a consultancy, government or related environment.

Demonstrated understanding of urban planning principles, legislation, planning frameworks and approval pathways.

Working knowledge and demonstrated experience applying the requirements of relevant planning legislation, regulations, standards and consultant reports.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, compelling and well-structured planning reports.

The ability to analyse complex information, identify opportunities and constraints, and provide practical planning recommendations.

Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and managing competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.

A proactive and curious mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning, industry awareness and professional growth.

Experience using Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and spatial analysis tools.
