About The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Shift Technician to join our team at our Horsley Park facility.
This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Maintenance Manager. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our production equipment, managing breakdowns, and delivering planned and preventative maintenance across the site.
You will work closely with production teams and contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations in a high-volume, fast-paced FMCG environment.
Work Pattern (Rotating Roster)
This role operates on a structured rotating 12-hour shift pattern across day and night shifts, including:
- 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Day Shift)
- 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Night Shift)
- A consistent rotating roster
You must be able to commit to working across both day and night shifts as part of this rotation.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations
- Prioritise and respond to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Perform and coordinate planned and preventative maintenance activities
- Maintain maintenance systems, including work orders, schedules, and equipment registers
- Monitor production equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Manage spare parts requirements and maintain stock levels
- Collaborate closely with production teams to support operational reliability
Technical & Continuous Improvement
- Diagnose faults across mechanical and electrical systems, including PLC, pneumatics and hydraulics
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant performance
- Provide coaching and feedback to operators to improve equipment use
Contractor & Site Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate external contractors, ensuring compliance with site requirements
- Ensure contractors are inducted and work safely on site
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to WHS policies and procedures
- Ensure all work is completed in line with food safety and quality standards (HACCP & GMP)
- Identify and proactively address unsafe conditions across the facility
- Report and participate in investigations of incidents and near misses
About You
- Trade-qualified in a relevant discipline
- Electrical licence preferred, OR strong FMCG/bottling experience involving electrical disconnect/reconnect work
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role within a fast-paced FMCG or manufacturing environment
- Strong experience in high-tempo production environments
- Technical expertise in maintenance of machinery, including PLC, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- Experience with preventative and scheduled maintenance systems
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to respond under pressure
- Ability to build strong working relationships with production teams and contractors
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement
