About the Role
As a Technical Officer you will contribute to the delivery of technical services across research facilities within the Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health (SMAH). Working as part of a dedicated technical services team you will partner with researchers and research students to help ensure the safe, efficient and effective operation of research laboratories and facilities.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the operation and maintenance of research facilities and equipment
- Assisting researchers and research students with technical requirements
- Managing laboratory consumables and resources
Promoting safe work practices and compliance with work health and safety requirements

Special Job Requirements
- This position is not suitable for remote working arrangements.
- Manual handling of heavy/awkward items and exposure to biological and chemical hazards in a risk-controlled environment will be a regular part of this role.
- This position requires a pre-employment medical be undertaken to demonstrate satisfactory fitness to undertake the physical requirements of this position.
May be required to respond to after-hours facility and equipment alarms.
