Applications are invited for the position of Community Development Officer with Leeton Shire Council.
The primary purpose of the position is to:

Help Leeton Shire communities to identify their needs, take collaborative action, build resilience and foster local leadership in order to enhance quality of life, strengthen social connections / cohesion, and promote inclusivity.

Plan, initiate and conduct community development programs, events and projects to promote quality of life and volunteering across Leeton Shire Council.
Full details of specific duties are detailed in the Operations section of the Position Description (attached) and include (but not limited to):

Undertake community engagement and needs assessments

Coordinate projects and programs

Build community capacity

Nurture stakeholder relationship and partnerships

Coordinate Council’s Youth Council and Volunteer Program
The applicant will have a degree or an appropriate tertiary qualification in community development, health promotion, social work or other relevant area with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.
Salary and conditions: The position is Grade 12 in Council’s salary system ($43.62 - $48.85 / hour) depending on qualifications and experience.
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
Prior to commencement the successful applicant will be required to undergo a Functional Assessment which includes an alcohol and other drug screening and a hearing test.
