Outer Space Landscape is a small, established business that has been providing high quality landscape maintenance to Sydney's Eastern Suburbs and Lower North Shore for over 33 years. We service high-end residential homes and gardens and take pride in the quality and care we bring to every property.
A casual position has become available for a Landscape Gardener. This is a junior role suited to a horticulture student or someone early in their landscaping career.
Eligibility (required):
- Permanent residency or valid working visa
- A valid full driver's licence
- Ability to drive manual vehicle
- A White Card
- Own transportation to/from our office base in Marrickville or work base in the Eastern Suburbs area (work van will be used throughout the day)
Day-to-day you'll be:
- Installing and maintaining lawns, shrubs, trees, and flowers using appropriate horticultural techniques
- Implementing irrigation systems and ensuring their proper maintenance
- Carrying out soil preparation, including cultivation and fertilising
- Identifying and treating pests, diseases and other plant health issues
- Using and maintaining gardening tools and machinery effectively and safely
- Pruning and shaping hedges and shrubs
- Planting out and installing new garden beds
- Mulching, weeding, fertilising, blowing leaves, mowing and edging
What you'll bring:
- A passion for horticulture/gardening
- Minimum 2 years' experience in landscape gardening, OR currently enrolled in a horticulture TAFE course
- Pride in your work with strong attention to detail
- A reliable and honest approach
- A good level of fitness — this is hands-on outdoor work involving lifting equipment, repetitive bending/kneeling and working in all weather conditions
- A kind, courteous and professional manner — you'll be working in clients' private homes and gardens and representing us with the trust that comes with that
- A team player mentality
- A genuine desire to train and upskill
