The Glennie School is seeking Senior Boarding Supervisors to join our boarding community from Term 4, 2026.
These are full-time, term-time leadership positions and an opportunity to take on a meaningful role within our Boarding team. Working closely with Boarding leadership, our Senior Boarding Supervisors provide guidance and support for both boarders and staff, help oversee the day-to-day operation of the Boarding House, and contribute to a safe, positive and well-connected residential community.

About Glennie Boarding
Glennie Boarding is a vibrant community for girls from Years 5 to 12 who come from across regional and remote Australia, as well as overseas. Our boarders are supported to build positive relationships, participate fully in school life, engage in a busy co-curricular program, and develop confidence and independence. Our Boarding Supervisors are central to this experience. They provide care, guidance and consistency.
About the Role
As a Senior Boarding Supervisor, you will support the daily care, wellbeing and development of our boarders.
Every shift is different. You may be helping a student prepare for an assessment, supporting someone through homesickness or friendship concerns, transporting girls to activities, coordinating routines, celebrating an achievement or simply being the trusted adult available for a conversation at the end of the day.
You will play an important role in creating a positive and caring culture that encourages full participation in study, cocurricular programs and boarding life.
These are full-time, term-time positions of 38 hours per week. Hours are worked across a roster that is confirmed at the beginning of each term. The roles include evening work and approximately four to five weekends each term.
Your Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with the care, safety, and wellbeing of all boarders while upholding the family focused values of the boarding community
Building positive and respectful relationships with students and their families
Fostering a boarding culture centered on wellbeing, belonging, personal growth, and respectful relationships
Providing pastoral care and responding calmly and appropriately to student welfare and behavioural matters
Supporting boarders to participate fully in their study, co-curricular commitments, and wider school life
Establishing clear expectations and maintaining consistent boundaries and routines
Implementing boarding house regulations, procedures, and safeguarding requirements to a high standard
Transporting students when required
Modelling appropriate behaviour, values, and attitudes at all times
The People We Are Looking For
You may be an experienced boarding professional, youth worker, teacher aide, coach, residential care worker, or someone with transferable skills and a genuine commitment to supporting young people.

Build genuine relationships while maintaining clear and appropriate boundaries
Bring a calm, consistent, and relational approach to student support
Can manage student matters with care, sound judgement and professionalism
Remain composed and practical when plans change or challenges arise
Communicate confidently with students, families, and colleagues
Are organised, reliable, and able to work effectively within a team
What You Will Bring
Relevant experience working with young people, preferably in boarding, education, youth work, residential care, sport, or a related setting
An open driver's license, as transporting students is sometimes required
A Positive Notice Blue Card for paid employment in accordance with Queensland’s working with children requirements, or eligibility to obtain one
Current First Aid and CPR qualifications, or a willingness to obtain them
The ability to work evenings and approximately four to five weekends each term
