Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Property, Resilience & Security, this executive leadership role is responsible for business continuity, crisis management, emergency management, and resilience assurance across the enterprise.
About the Role:
As Senior Director, Organisational Resilience, you will be responsible for ensuring our business can anticipate, withstand, respond to, and recover from disruptive events. You will partner with senior leaders across the organisation to embed resilience into operational practices and provide confidence that critical services can be maintained during major incidents or crises.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and enhancing Optus' Enterprise Crisis Management and Business Continuity frameworks.
Overseeing enterprise-wide Business Impact Analysis (BIA) activities and continuity planning.
Driving crisis and emergency management preparedness through simulations, exercises, and executive rehearsals.
Providing strategic resilience advice and leadership during significant incidents and crisis events.
Monitoring organisational resilience maturity and supporting compliance with regulatory obligations, including critical infrastructure requirements.
Building resilience capability through training, awareness, and continuous improvement programs.
Leading lessons-learned reviews and driving sustainable improvements following incidents and exercises.
What makes you perfect for the role:
You are a seasoned resilience leader who combines strategic thinking with strong operational execution. You have a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, navigate complexity, and lead effectively in high-pressure environments.
You will bring:
10–15+ years' experience in business continuity, crisis management, resilience, risk, or related disciplines within large, complex organisations.
Experience operating within regulated industries or critical infrastructure environments.
Deep knowledge of business continuity management, disaster recovery, risk management, and enterprise resilience frameworks.
Strong executive stakeholder management and facilitation capabilities
Demonstrated success leading crisis response activities and resilience programs.
A degree in Business, Risk Management, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
