400 Gradi Brunswick is looking for a Casual Cook / Commis Chef to join our flagship restaurant, the original home of the Gradi Group.
Required: Minimum 1 year kitchen experience in a fast-paced environment, with basic grill and larder experience. Italian restaurant experience is highly regarded.
Salary: Casual award rates, Level 2 or Level 3 depending on experience.
$32.31 – $33.38 per hour before 1 July award changes.

We are looking for a reliable and passionate Cook / Commis Chef to join our back of house team and support the delivery of high-quality Italian food in a busy service environment.

What you’ll do
As a Cook / Commis Chef, you will support the kitchen team with preparation, service and general back of house duties.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen, can follow direction, and takes pride in consistency, cleanliness and quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with daily food preparation and kitchen setup
- Supporting grill, larder and general kitchen sections
- Cooking and presenting menu items to 400 Gradi standards
- Maintaining high standards of food quality and consistency
- Working efficiently during busy service periods
- Following food safety, hygiene and cleaning procedures
- Assisting with stock rotation and preparation lists
- Keeping your section clean, organised and ready for service
- Supporting senior chefs and the wider kitchen team as required
What you’ll bring
- Minimum 1 year kitchen experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Basic grill and larder experience preferred
- Previous experience in an Italian restaurant highly regarded
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills and ability to follow direction
- Ability to work well under pressure during busy service
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
- Reliable availability, including nights and weekends
- A positive attitude and team-focused approach
