About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists at our Scone Plant located in New South Wales, 2hrs North West of Newcastle for an Engineering Manager. This is a full-time position with annual salary higher than $120,000.00 plus superannuation.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
· Develop, implement and oversee engineering strategies, maintenance programs and operational plans to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the processing facility, ensuring engineering activities align with JBS Australia's business objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Review engineering drawings, technical specifications and project documentation, and provide specialist engineering advice to support plant upgrades, equipment installations, production improvements and infrastructure development across the site.
· Plan, coordinate and manage engineering projects by developing project schedules, budgets and resource plans, ensuring capital works and engineering initiatives are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.
· Ensure all engineering activities comply with technical specifications, Australian legislation, workplace health and safety requirements, food safety standards, environmental regulations and JBS Australia's engineering and operational policies.
· Monitor engineering performance and asset reliability to ensure high standards of quality, safety, cost efficiency, operational performance and timely project delivery are consistently achieved.
· Lead the site's preventative and corrective maintenance programs to maximise equipment reliability, minimise production downtime and optimise the performance of critical processing, refrigeration, utilities and rendering equipment.
· Coordinate closely with production, quality assurance, operations, procurement and senior management teams to provide engineering input into plant upgrades, process improvements, capital investment projects and the introduction of new technologies and production systems.
· Drive engineering innovation, sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement projects to improve production efficiency, reduce environmental impact, optimise energy utilisation and strengthen the long-term performance of the facility.
· Lead, mentor and develop engineering and maintenance personnel, fostering a high-performing team and ensuring the department maintains the technical capability required to support current operations and future business growth.
· Provide strategic engineering leadership across the processing facility by identifying operational risks, implementing engineering solutions and supporting the delivery of major capital investment projects that enhance productivity, safety and business resilience.
About you:
· Relevant bachelor degree or higher qualification. Alternatively, 5 years of experience as Engineering Manager level in the food processing industry can substitute for the qualification
· Good communication skills
· Demonstrated interest in the trade
· Organisation and time management skills
· Ability to work in a team environment and independently
· Positive attitude and the ability to problem solve
