Role Description
The Commercial and Pricing Manager is responsible for supporting Evolve’s sustainable growth, profitability and overall commercial performance.
The role leads the development of accurate, competitive and commercially viable pricing for new business opportunities, tenders, contract renewals and variations. It also analyses existing contract and business performance to identify opportunities to grow revenue, improve margins, reduce costs and strengthen operational efficiency.
Working closely with Business Development, Operations, Finance, Procurement and Executive Leadership, the position provides clear commercial insights, robust financial modelling and practical recommendations to support informed decision-making.
This role is full-time permanent role based in Sydney office.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing, Estimating and Tender Support
- Develop accurate and commercially viable pricing models for tenders, proposals, contract renewals and variations.
- Analyse labour, supplier, subcontractor, equipment and operational costs to establish robust pricing structures.
- Partner with operational and bid teams to confirm service requirements, resource models, risks and key assumptions.
- Prepare pricing schedules and commercial proposals that meet Evolve’s governance, margin and profitability requirements.
Commercial Performance and Profitability
- Analyse contract, business unit and organisational profit and loss performance against budgets, forecasts and original pricing assumptions.
- Identify margin erosion, cost overruns, revenue leakage, under-recovery and other areas of commercial underperformance.
- Work with operational leaders to develop and implement practical commercial improvement plans.
- Provide senior leaders with clear insights and recommendations to support commercial decision-making.
Revenue Growth
- Identify opportunities to grow revenue through additional services, contract variations, scope extensions and new service lines.
- Review existing contracts to identify services that may be underpriced, uncharged or outside the agreed scope.
- Develop financial models and business cases to support growth initiatives and investment decisions.
- Partner with Business Development and Operations to convert opportunities into sustainable revenue.
Operational Efficiency and Cost Optimisation
- Review service delivery models, operational processes and cost structures to identify efficiency and cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyse labour utilisation, workforce structures, supplier arrangements and subcontractor expenditure.
- Work with Operations and Procurement to improve productivity, supplier value and commercial outcomes.
- Develop and monitor business cases for improvement initiatives while maintaining service quality and client outcomes.
Commercial Analysis and Reporting
- Prepare financial, commercial and operational analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Produce regular reports on pricing, profitability, margins, revenue opportunities and efficiency initiatives.
- Develop forecasts, scenario models and business cases for new opportunities and operational improvements.
- Identify emerging commercial risks and opportunities and recommend practical actions.
Contract and Commercial Management
- Review contracts to identify commercial obligations, financial risks and growth opportunities.
- Support pricing reviews, variations, scope changes and commercial negotiations.
- Assess client requests and service changes to ensure costs and commercial impacts are appropriately evaluated and recovered.
- Promote consistent commercial governance, financial discipline and accountability across Evolve.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in finance, commerce, business, engineering, property or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial management, pricing, estimating, financial analysis, contract management or bid management, preferably within facilities management, property services or a similar outsourced services environment.
- Strong financial and commercial capability, including experience analysing profit and loss statements, budgets, forecasts, costs and margins, as well as developing complex pricing and financial models.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using tendering platforms, enterprise systems and financial reporting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and deliver revenue growth, cost savings, efficiency improvements and improved commercial outcomes.
- Strong understanding of operational service delivery models, procurement processes, and supplier and subcontractor pricing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic-thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication, collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work constructively with stakeholders at all organisational levels.
