About the role
This is an active and hands-on role with plenty of variety. Your day-to-day will involve:
· Food Production: preparing high-quality meals according to production schedules and standard recipes
· Compliance & Safety: maintaining strict adherence to food safety standards ensuring a clean, hygienic work environment
· Operational Support: assisting with menu development, production records and supervising / training the team.
What you bring:
The must-haves for this role are:
· Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (minimum)
· At least 3 years of experience in bulk commercial cookery
· A safety mindset – a solid commitment to WHS and food safety protocols
· Ability to thrive under pressure and operate in a fast paced kitchen
· A positive team player.
A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate would be a great advantage and if you don’t have one, you must be willing to get one.
An understanding of the nutritional needs of older people is a significant advantage as well as experience supervising staff.
You will either have or be prepared to obtain a police check.
