We’re looking for a Dewatering Technician / Plumber / Mechanic to join our team and play a critical role in keeping dewatering systems safe, reliable and running at their best. We’re ideally looking for self-motivated people who are serious about building a long-term career with a growing business and Tasmania’s leading dewatering, water treatment and pump hire team.
This is a hands-on field role where you’ll install, commission, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot dewatering systems, working with equipment, customers and project teams to solve problems and keep sites moving.
What You’ll Be Doing
As our Dewatering Technician / Plumber / Mechanic, you’ll be hands-on from setup through to shutdown.
- Installing, connecting, aligning and commissioning pumps, hoses, pipework, tanks and associated equipment.
- Operating and monitoring dewatering systems to maintain effective water control.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on pumps and equipment.
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and operational faults and getting systems back up and running.
- Completing plumbing and pipework installations, connections and modifications.
- Mobilising and demobilising equipment across project sites.
- Inspecting equipment and identifying issues before they become costly problems.
- Recording water levels, equipment performance, maintenance and site activities.
- Working with customers, site teams, Workshop and Operations to deliver reliable solutions.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and compliant work environment at all times.

Ideally, you’ll bring:
Experience & Knowledge
- Previous experience in dewatering, pumping, plumbing, mechanical fitting, civil construction or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of pumps, hoses, pipework, valves, fittings and water control systems.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic or operational issues.
- Ability to read technical drawings, specifications and equipment documentation.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to safety, quality and getting the job done right.
- A practical, team-first approach.
Licences & Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Plumbing, Diesel/Mechanical Engineering or a related trade.
- Current driver's licence.
- Experience with submersible or diesel-driven pumps, layflat hoses, suction lines, HDPE, tanks, manifolds and valves is highly regarded.
- Forklift, confined space, working at heights or other relevant tickets are advantageous.
