Mid-Western Regional Council is seeking a passionate and proactive Destination Marketing Partner to strengthen industry relationships, support tourism operators, and help grow the visitor economy across our thriving region.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Destination Marketing Partner is responsible for strategically positioning the Mudgee Region as a compelling and must-visit destination through the effective integration of owned, earned, and paid marketing channels. This role leads the creation and delivery of targeted campaigns and content that inspire, inform, and motivate travel, ensuring the right audiences are reached with the right messages at the right time.

About You
You are a relationship-focused professional with a passion for tourism, stakeholder engagement and regional development.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in tourism, marketing, communications, business, events or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent industry experience (minimum 5 years).
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership development, preferably within a tourism, marketing or economic development context.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver industry-facing strategies, campaigns or events that drive participation, investment or collaboration.
- Strong understanding of the tourism sector and the role of local, regional and state tourism bodies in destination marketing and visitor servicing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing professional reports, presentations, funding submissions or industry communications.
- Ability to interpret tourism data, research and trends to inform strategy and engagement activities.
- Demonstrated project coordination and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and deliver results.
- High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders, resolve issues, and maintain productive working relationships.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office and digital communication tools, with a willingness to adopt new platforms as needed.
- Current Class C driver’s licence and the ability to travel within and outside the region.
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
This role requires a satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check prior to commencing.
Working Arrangements
This position works standard business hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm. Occasional work outside normal business hours will be required, including early mornings, evenings and nights to support industry events, stakeholder engagement activities and Council initiatives.
On rare occasions, weekend work and travel may be required within the region and to key visitor markets including Sydney, Newcastle and the Central Coast, as well as interstate travel for industry conferences, learning and development opportunities, and tourism summits.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range being offered for this full-time position is $3,602.60 - $4,054.60 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $93,667.60 - $105,419.60 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).
