About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate FaPMI Child and Young People Worker (CYP) to join our team on a part-time basis (0.5 EFT) within the Families where a Parent has a Mental Illness (FaPMI) Program. This role provides a meaningful opportunity to support children, young people, and families experiencing the impacts of parental mental illness.
The FaPMI CYP Worker will play a vital role in supporting children and young people up to 25 years of age, with a particular emphasis on engaging and assisting young carers. Through early intervention, advocacy, and tailored supports, the position aims to improve wellbeing outcomes and strengthen resilience in young people navigating complex family circumstances.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary environment, the FaPMI CYP Worker will contribute to a whole-of-family approach to service delivery. This includes recognising the interconnected needs of parents, children, and family units, and supporting positive family functioning through inclusive, strengths-based practice.
A key component of the role is fostering family-inclusive practice, ensuring that children’s voices are heard and their needs are considered within care planning and service delivery. The position will also work collaboratively with a range of youth-focused and community-based organisations, building strong partnerships to enhance referral pathways, coordinated support, and access to appropriate services.
This is an excellent opportunity for a values-driven professional who is passionate about supporting young people and families, and who thrives in a collaborative, person-centred environment.
