The Role
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our Byron Bay leadership team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on the floor, loves leading people, and understands that great hospitality comes from creating a strong team culture behind the scenes.
Working closely with the Venue Manager, kitchen, and bar teams, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service, developing our front-of-house team, and ensuring every guest experiences the warmth and quality that Three Blue Ducks is known for.

What you’ll be doing:
Supporting the Venue Manager with the day-to-day operations of the restaurant
Leading service from the floor and setting the standard for guest experience
Supporting, mentoring, and developing the front-of-house team
Creating a positive and engaging team culture
Assisting with rostering, reservations, breaks, and service flow
Ensuring venue presentation and service standards are consistently maintained
Handling guest feedback with confidence, care, and professionalism
Working closely with the kitchen and bar teams to deliver seamless service
Supporting training, onboarding, and ongoing team development
Assisting with events, group bookings, and special service requirements
Supporting stock control, cost management, and operational targets
About you:
Proven experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, or similar leadership role
Strong experience in a busy, high-volume restaurant environment
A hands-on leader who enjoys being present on the floor
Confident running service and making decisions under pressure
Passionate about creating genuine guest experiences
Strong food and beverage knowledge (wine and cocktail knowledge highly regarded)
A natural mentor who enjoys developing and supporting others
Organised, proactive, and comfortable working with systems and processes
A team player who genuinely lives and breathes hospitality
