About the opportunity
We are seeking a permanent, full-time Project Management Officer who will play a key role in delivering building maintenance programs and projects across our community facilities.
Working within the Building Construction and Maintenance section, you will coordinate and deliver building construction projects which will include preparing work schedules, estimates and quotations, and support the ongoing improvement of our asset management systems. You will investigate building renewal issues, develop practical solutions, and manage work planning through to completion as well as work closely with trade supervisors in-house teams and contractors to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.
The role requires strong organisational skills, sound technical knowledge and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
Safety is a core part of this role. You will ensure all activities are carried out in line with work health and safety requirements and contribute to a safe working environment for staff, contractors and the community.
This position also supports collaboration across Council by liaising with internal teams, community groups and external stakeholders to ensure building maintenance needs are effectively addressed.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Diploma or above in a building related field
- Extensive project management experience in the building renewal field including managing contractors and as required utilising an in-house labour force
- Current class C driver's licence.
Desirable:
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Project management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $2,078.51 per week
