L’Atelier For Children is a small quality focused, Reggio inspired Preschool and Pre-Kindy in the heart of Scarborough. We have a large outdoor area which provides an amazing space for play based learning and exploration. We are looking for a positive, friendly, motivated education assistant to join our community.
About Our Preschool:
- Open 8.00am-4.00pm Monday-Friday
- 30 children per day aged between 2-5 years
- Reggio inspired
- Play and inquiry-based learning
- Work alongside an experienced early childhood teacher
- Large outdoor space
- High staff ratios
Essential Criteria:
- Certificate III or Diploma in Children’s Services
- Minimum 1-year experience working with children aged 2 to 5 years (pre-kindy or kindy age)
- Excellent oral and written language
- Experience taking high quality observations of children
- Confidence in conducting mat sessions with small groups and whole class
- Happy to engage in movement and music and creative and artistic experiences
- Approachable and professional
- Willingness to work as a team
- An open mindset that is positive and adaptable to change
Overall Requirements:
- Child Protection training
- Child Safety training
- Current Working with Children’s Check, Police Clearance, First Aid, CPR and Asthma/ Anaphylaxis Certificates
- Demonstrated passion for early years education
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to build strong relationships
- The drive to learn and develop
- An understanding of the NQF and a continuous improvement philosophy
- Team player with a sense of fun and willingness to think outside the box
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience and practice with Reggio Emilia approach
- Italian or French
- Experience in a genuine play based working environment
- Visual arts, music or yoga background
