Environmental Health Support Officer

Temporary Part-time (0.5 EFT) until 9 October 2026
Band 4 $72.010 - $75,577 per annum plus 12% statutory superannuation
Wellington Shire Council have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly organised and collaborative administration professional to join our Governance team in the temporary part-time role of Environmental Health Support Officer.
Working part-time, you will support the Environmental Health team in administering the provisions of public health legislation throughout Council.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Data entry.
- Diary management.
- Record keeping.
- Overseeing customer requests as they relate to Environmental Health issues.
- In addition, you will provide support with public health services including immunisation sessions, onsite wastewater management systems, premise inspections and registrations.
To be successful in this role, you will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills; be customer focussed, professionally presented, demonstrate initiative and be willing to assist all internal and external stakeholders of Council. If you are an enthusiastic team player with strong administration skills, we would love to hear from you.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate how they meet the criteria below:
- High level communication skills with regards to dealing with compliance issues.
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to gain co-operation and assistance from clients, members of the public and other employees in the administration of Environmental Health business unit activities.
- Sound administrative skills with the ability to prepare routine correspondence and reports as required.
- Proven ability to work in a team and collaborative environment.
