Job Description
We are currently seeking enthusiastic candidates for full-time and part-time opportunities in our Cardiac Services Unit.
As a Ward Clerk, you’ll play an important role in supporting the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the ward. Working closely with patients, families, medical staff and the wider clinical team, you’ll be the friendly and organised point of contact helping ensure patients receive a positive and seamless hospital experience.
Key responsibilities:

Support patient admission and discharge processes, helping the clinical team maintain effective bed management and ensure the ward operates efficiently.

Manage incoming and outgoing telephone calls to the ward, providing a professional, friendly and helpful first point of contact.

Respond to enquiries from patients, families, visitors, medical staff and other hospital departments, providing timely, accurate and appropriate information.

Work collaboratively with medical, clinical and administrative teams to help create a smooth, welcoming and positive experience for patients throughout their hospital stay.

Accurately compile, maintain and manage patient admission documentation, clinical notes and medical records, ensuring information is complete and available when required.

Provide general administrative support to the ward and clinical team, assisting with the day-to-day coordination and smooth running of the ward.
About You:
You’re a friendly, organised and confident administration professional who enjoys being part of a busy healthcare team. You take pride in providing exceptional service and understand the importance of making patients and their families feel welcomed, supported and respected.
You’re detail-oriented, adaptable and able to juggle competing priorities while staying calm and professional. You work well independently and as part of a team, and you’re someone others can rely on to get the job done.
What you will bring:
- Previous experience in an administration role, with experience in a hospital or healthcare environment highly regarded

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally

Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to accurately manage documentation, patient records, data entry and administrative tasks within required timeframes.

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to confidently manage competing priorities and remain organised in a busy ward environment.

The ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
