About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Financial Accounting, the Finance Officer Accounts Receivable ensures processes related to student and sponsor debtors are delivered in line with TAFE Gippsland standards. Working within a highly functional and experienced Finance team, the role focuses on debtor management, including raising invoices, reconciling accounts, managing correspondence, and liaising with debtors to follow up outstanding amounts and support payment arrangements, while also providing guidance and support to TAFE Gippsland staff on debtor-related financial matters.
About you
You are an experienced accounts receivable professional with strong financial administration skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. You have a proven ability to manage debtor accounts, reconcile financial records, and confidently navigate complex or sensitive conversations with students, sponsors, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
Highly organised and detail-oriented, you can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and strong record-keeping practices. You are comfortable working with financial systems, databases, spreadsheets, and the Microsoft Office Suite, and can quickly learn new systems and processes.
With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you build positive working relationships across teams and with external stakeholders. You use sound judgement, work collaboratively, and are proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the efficient management of accounts receivable functions.
