Digital Metro North (DMN) works collaboratively with clinical leads and end users across Metro North Health to deliver the Digital Metro North Strategy 2018-32. The strategy aims to ultimately deliver an integrated digital hospital and healthcare environment across Metro North by 2032. Over the coming years, significant capital works are being undertaken, including hospital construction and refurbishment and the implementation of the ieMR Advanced solution across all Metro North facilities. Achieving the aims of the strategy requires a dedicated team with the knowledge, determination, and skills to deliver quality results.
About the Role
Reporting to the Clinical Midwife Consultant - Clinical Informatics - The Clinical Midwife - Clinical Informatics will provide expert clinical knowledge to support the training and adoption of the integrated electronic Medical Record (ieMR) program across Women's and Newborn Services. This includes electronic medications and orders and results reporting for pathology and medical imaging) and associated digital workflows across Metro North facilities. In addition, this role will provide support and direction to Registered Nurses, Midwives and other personnel in support involving Clinical Informatics.
This role is full time with the standard hours of operation being 8:00am - 4:06pm, Monday to Friday.
Flexible working arrangements such as variable working hours, working from home and flex accrual may be supported.

The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 8, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health and Department of Education) Certified Agreement (EB11) (2022) - Midwifery Generic Level Statements (GLS) Midwife Grade 6 Band 1 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting midwifery practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
Integrate midwifery and healthcare knowledge, skills, and ability by supporting an evidence-based learning environment and participating in learning activities/opportunities for self and others.
Deliver cost-effective clinical informatics training, development, and support to midwives, and other personnel within the clinical environment in collaboration with the Clinical Midwife Consultant, Clinical Informatics, which will include providing ieMR training and support, supporting digital workflows and data analytics and maintaining accurate training records.
Respond appropriately to and provide support and direction to manage sudden alterations in the health status of the woman and baby using advanced midwifery assessment and intervention skills.
