Due to our increased operations, we are currently looking for a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team.
About Position
Electrical Engineering Technicians provide technical assistance to Electrical Engineers in the research, design, installation, manufacture, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical equipment, systems, and power distribution networks. The position includes engineering activities by ensuring electrical installations operate efficiently and comply with relevant technical standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Produce and update electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and technical documentation for electrical systems and installations.
· Support Electrical Engineers in designing, developing, and implementing electrical infrastructure, including substations, switchgear, motor control centres, and cable distribution systems.
· Carry out technical inspections, testing, data collection, and analysis to evaluate the performance and reliability of electrical equipment.
· Prepare material take-offs, estimate quantities, and assist in project cost estimation and planning.
· Verify that electrical installations and completed works comply with engineering specifications, applicable standards, and workplace safety regulations.
· Install, commission, test, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of electrical equipment, control systems, and associated components.
· Assemble and wire electrical control panels, protection relays, metering equipment, and other electrical assemblies in the workshop.
· Diagnose electrical and electronic faults using specialised testing and measuring instruments, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
· Replace or repair damaged electrical wiring, circuits, switches, fuses, lighting components, and other defective electrical parts.
· Assist with research, development, product evaluation, and testing activities to support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Maintain accurate technical records, testing results, maintenance logs, and project documentation.
· Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company procedures, quality standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required
· AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) or relevant overseas qualification
· Minimum 2 years of experience in the industry as an office management or senior administrative role.
· Strong organisational and leadership abilities with excellent attention to detail.
· Ability to multitask, prioritise workloads, and manage deadlines in a busy environment.
