Made for Moments? So are we.
At dusk, we’re here for all of life’s moments. The big, bold, heart-thumping ones. The quiet, cosy, just-passing-through ones. The ones you planned for months.
And the ones that just… happened.
We’re an Australian and New Zealand specialty retailer, known for creating premium home fragrance products designed in-house and exclusive to us. With around 150 stores and a growing online presence, we’ve built a leading omni-channel business grounded in quality, accessibility, and experience.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for people who think differently, move with intention, and care about the impact they make. People who collaborate, take ownership, and aren’t afraid to challenge how things are done.
At dusk Australia, we don’t just sell candles—we create moments. As an ASX-listed specialty retailer, we’re known for bringing fragrance, ambience and a little bit of calm into homes across Australia. Behind the scenes, our finance team plays a critical role in keeping the business sharp, compliant and commercially focused.
We’re now looking for a Financial Accountant to join the team—someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and enjoys getting into both the detail and the bigger picture.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you’ll own core financial reporting and compliance, while also partnering with the business to provide insights that actually influence decisions.
This isn’t just a “numbers” role—you’ll be close to the action, supporting retail performance and helping shape how we grow.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, ensuring compliance with ASX and accounting standards
- Managing month-end and year-end processes, including consolidations and technical accounting areas
- Owning the audit process, acting as the key point of contact
- Driving budgeting and forecasting, with clear analysis of performance vs plan
- Preparing reports and insights for senior leaders, Board and Audit & Risk Committee
- Supporting retail operations, particularly around inventory, pricing and promotions
- Providing technical accounting guidance and improving processes where needed
About you
- CA/CPA qualified
- 4–7 years’ experience across accounting/audit (Big 4 or mid-tier highly regarded)
- Strong grounding in IFRS and financial reporting
- Comfortable operating in a listed or complex environment (or ready to step into one)
- Commercially curious—you don’t just report numbers, you interpret them
- Able to manage multiple priorities without losing attention to detail
Retail experience is a bonus, but not essential.
If you’re looking for a role where you can step up, be trusted, and have a real impact—this is it.
