Think Square + Shopify + Toast, reimagined as a single AI-native platform that eliminates fragmented software and gives businesses one place to run everything.
We've already validated strong market demand with approximately $200 million in Expressions of Interest from established Australian hospitality businesses, built a fully interactive product prototype, and completed a comprehensive technical architecture for the platform.
Now we're looking for an exceptional Product Designer to help shape the experience of a platform that has the potential to be used by thousands of businesses every day.
The Opportunity
This isn't a traditional design role.
We're looking for one of the first people to define how users experience ZBOS from day one.
You'll work directly alongside the founders and engineering team to transform complex business workflows into intuitive, elegant and highly efficient product experiences.
The core platform has already been architected and an interactive prototype has been developed. Your role is to elevate that vision, challenge assumptions and create a product that businesses genuinely enjoy using.
You'll have significant influence over product direction, user experience, design systems and the overall quality of everything we ship.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end product design process.
- Design intuitive workflows for complex business operations.
- Create high-fidelity UI designs and interactive prototypes.
- Develop and maintain the ZBOS design system.
- Collaborate closely with engineering throughout implementation.
- Conduct user research and usability testing where appropriate.
- Continuously improve the user experience through iteration and customer feedback.
- Help define the future visual identity of the ZBOS platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing digital products.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design.
- Advanced Figma proficiency.
- Experience designing complex SaaS or enterprise software.
- Strong understanding of UX principles and interaction design.
- Ability to simplify complex workflows into intuitive experiences.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience designing enterprise SaaS platforms.
- Design systems.
- Mobile and responsive web applications.
- User research and usability testing.
- Accessibility best practices.
- Motion and micro-interactions.
- AI-assisted product experiences.
- Startup or scale-up experience.
- Experience at companies such as Canva, Atlassian, Airwallex, Xero, SafetyCulture, REA Group, Figma, Notion, Linear or similar.
Founding Equity & Compensation

ZBOS is currently a pre-seed startup.
This is not a conventional salaried design position.
We're looking for someone who genuinely wants to help build a company from the ground up and understands the risks and rewards of joining at this stage.
Successful candidates will receive meaningful founding equity based on experience, expected contribution and long-term commitment.
At this stage, participation is equity-based. As ZBOS grows and subject to successful fundraising and the company's financial position, remuneration arrangements will be reviewed.
If you're primarily looking for an immediate salary or guaranteed cash compensation, this opportunity isn't the right fit.
