About the role
Reporting to the Community & Cultural Development Team Leader, the Events & Activation Coordinator is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination and oversight of Council's annual events and activation program.
Working collaboratively across Council and with community, business and industry stakeholders, you will lead the end-to-end project management of events and activations, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, on budget and aligned with Council's strategic priorities.
The role also oversees Council's Community Event Sponsorship Program and Event Permit processes, while supporting the attraction and development of new and diverse events within the City.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in event management, project management or activation programming.
- Well-developed project planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience managing budgets, procurement processes, contractors and service providers.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of event risk management, compliance and operational planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively across a diverse range of stakeholders and teams.
- A passion for creating vibrant, inclusive and engaging community experiences.
