Primary objective
Manage front office functions; provide financial and administrative support to the Business Manager, the Principal and
teaching staff in a busy and demanding school environment. To maintain the administrative aspects of the data, and library
systems. Assist in a classroom support role as/when required.
Context statement
Kintore Street School is a specialist school that caters for students with moderate to severe intellectual and/or multiple
disabilities who are aged from 3½ to 18 years. The Administration Officer will work to support the functions of the school
under the direction of the Business Manager and Principal.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Perform word processing, data entry, administrative and other tasks as directed by the Business Manager.
2. Responsible for invoicing, accounts payable and receivable (including receipting and banking of monies coming into the
school and preparation and management of purchase orders.
3. Undertake data entry and management of data systems to ensure accurate maintenance of all manual and computerized
student records including ensuring the integrity and currency of the database.
4. Undertake administration of the Assessment and Reporting Accelerus Data base and Library and Resource System –
stock control and borrowing
5. Management of the front office reception activities including answering calls, greeting visitors and managing visiting
trade persons.
6. Provide administrative support to the front office, the Principal and teaching staff as necessary.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Sound written and oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with people
from diverse cultures and work well with a wide range of people with tact and discretion.
2. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team whilst maintaining integrity and confidentiality
3. Demonstrated experience in the management of cash and purchasing including receipting and banking monies.
4. Sound administrative and computer literacy skills – including Microsoft suite, Canva and experience in Department of
Education systems or similar
5. Demonstrated organisational skills including data management in Library systems
