Gold Coast Doggy Daycare is looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and caring Casual Dog Daycare Attendant to join our team in Bundall.
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with dogs, takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a team that puts the safety and wellbeing of the dogs first.
This is a hands-on role. There are plenty of cuddles and fun, but there is also cleaning, supervising, customer service and plenty of responsibility involved in making sure our dogs have a safe and enjoyable day.
What you'll be doing
- Supervising groups of dogs and ensuring safe and appropriate interactions.
- Monitoring dog body language, behaviour and wellbeing throughout the day.
- Providing enrichment, interaction and individual attention.
- Helping dogs settle and ensuring appropriate rest periods throughout the day.
- Reinforcing basic training and positive behaviours during daily interactions.
- Feeding dogs according to their individual requirements.
- Monitoring dogs for changes in behaviour, illness or injury and reporting concerns to management.
- Providing owners with updates about their dog's day.
- Assisting with check-ins and check-outs.
- Assisting customers with bookings and payments.
- Providing friendly and professional customer service.
- Cleaning and sanitising play areas, equipment and the facility throughout the day.
- Setting up the daycare at the beginning of the day.
- Packing up and closing the daycare at the end of the day.
- Working closely with the rest of the team to maintain our standards and values.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for dogs and their wellbeing.
- Is reliable and takes their commitments seriously.
- Is confident and comfortable around dogs of different sizes, breeds and temperaments.
- Is calm and patient, particularly when dogs become excited or challenging.
- Has an interest in dog behaviour and body language.
- Takes initiative and can work independently when required.
- Can follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
- Communicates well with customers and team members.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Is physically fit and comfortable being on their feet for most of the day.
- Doesn't mind getting their hands dirty, cleaning is an important part of the job!
- Is open to feedback and willing to learn.
- Takes pride in doing things properly.
Experience
Previous experience working with dogs is an advantage, but it's not essential.
Experience in animal care, veterinary nursing, dog training, grooming, hospitality, childcare or other fast-paced customer-facing environments can all be valuable.
What matters most to us is your attitude, reliability, work ethic and willingness to learn.
Relevant qualifications or study in animal care, veterinary nursing or dog behaviour are an advantage but are not required.
The role
- Casual position
- Based in Bundall, Gold Coast
- Weekday shifts between approximately 6:45am and 5:45pm
- Regular casual hours available for the right person
- Full training will be provided
This is a physical, hands-on role. You'll spend most of your day on your feet, supervising dogs, cleaning, lifting and working in a busy environment.
