About Fairfield Auto Parts
At Fairfield Auto Parts, we are a renowned auto dismantling and recycling company and Sydney's trusted source for high-quality second-hand auto parts. We supply fully tested, reliable used parts Australia-wide for all makes and models. With an extensive inventory that is updated daily and a strong commitment to eco-friendly vehicle disposal, we pride ourselves on delivering fast service, exceptional value, and top-notch automotive knowledge.
The Role
We are looking for a highly organized, energetic, and proactive Dispatch Manager to take the wheel of our busy logistics operations in Fairfield East.
In this role, you will take full ownership of the dispatch floor, ensuring that every order—from a small ignition component to a heavy transmission or replacement engine—is picked, securely packed, and dispatched accurately. You will act as the vital link between our sales team, our warehouse staff, and our freight partners, ensuring our customers get exactly what they need, right on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Dispatch: Oversee the end-to-end dispatch process for all outgoing orders, including local Sydney runs and interstate freight.
- Team Leadership: Lead, roster, and motivate the warehouse packing team and local delivery drivers to meet tight daily deadlines.
- Quality Control: Ensure all outgoing parts are thoroughly inspected, accurately matched to customer invoices, and safely packaged to prevent damage during transit.
- Freight Coordination: Liaise with external courier and heavy freight companies to negotiate rates and coordinate Australia-wide deliveries. Route and schedule our internal drivers efficiently.
- Inventory & Systems: Maintain accurate records using our dispatch software, track outgoing shipments, and resolve any delayed or lost freight issues promptly.
- Health & Safety: Champion a strict safety culture on the warehouse floor, ensuring the correct manual handling of heavy automotive components (like engines, bonnets, and wheels).
What You Bring to the Team
- Experience: Proven track record in a Dispatch, Warehouse, or Logistics Management role.
- Fast-Paced Expertise: Demonstrated ability to thrive, make quick decisions, and maintain strict accuracy in a high-volume, deadline-driven, and fast-paced environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in the automotive industry, specifically auto parts, dismantling, or wrecking, is highly advantageous.
- Leadership: Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and maintain operations smoothly during peak daily periods.
- Problem Solver: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to think on your feet when logistical challenges or freight delays arise.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in using inventory management and dispatch tracking software.
- Licensing: A valid NSW Driver’s License (Forklift license is strongly preferred).
What We Offer
- Competitive Salary: Remuneration based on your experience and industry knowledge.
- Job Security: A stable, full-time leadership position in a well-established and growing local business.
- Great Environment: A dynamic, hands-on workplace with a supportive team of automotive experts.
- Staff Perks: Generous staff discounts on auto parts and tyres.
