Sushi Chef – Full Time
Oshima Beaumaris is seeking a skilled and dedicated Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to showcase your expertise in a modern Japanese restaurant renowned for its authentic cuisine, premium ingredients, and exceptional presentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and present high-quality sushi and sashimi with consistency and precision
* Uphold food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness to the highest standards
* Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth, efficient service
* Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation and techniques
* Manage stock rotation, freshness checks, and proper storage of seafood and produce
* Contribute to a positive, professional, and respectful kitchen culture
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sushi Chef in a busy restaurant environment
* Strong knife skills and in-depth knowledge of Japanese cuisine and ingredients
* Expertise in handling and preparing raw fish, ensuring freshness and safety
* Current food safety certification
* Attention to detail, consistency, and high-quality standards
* Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
* Reliability, teamwork, and passion for Japanese food
