About the opportunity
The Facilities management team is looking for an Asset Maintenance Planner to join their team.
As our new Asset Maintenance Planner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of efficient, compliant, and data-driven maintenance services across the University’s built environment.
Reporting to the Head of Maintenance, you will be responsible for coordinating and improving maintenance planning and scheduling processes, ensuring the effective implementation of preventative maintenance programs, and maintaining the integrity of asset and maintenance data within CMMS systems.
You will contribute to informed decision-making through the analysis of asset condition, maintenance performance, and service delivery data, supporting prioritisation of maintenance activities, lifecycle planning, and capital renewal initiatives aligned with the University’s Strategic Asset Management Plan. You will also oversee the coordination of rectification works, ensuring contractor compliance and safe, timely delivery of services.

You will exercise sound judgement, confidently balancing operational and compliance considerations, and take a proactive approach to enhancing asset performance and service outcomes across the portfolio.
This role will require regular intrastate travel between campuses.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate and continuously improve maintenance planning and scheduling activities for built environment assets across the University.
- Support the development, implementation, and optimisation of preventative maintenance programs and CMMS processes for state-wide facilities maintenance.
- Maintain the integrity of asset and maintenance data, including the capture and update of critical asset information arising from capital works, refurbishments, and operational changes.
- Analyse maintenance condition, performance, and service delivery reports to inform maintenance prioritisation, lifecycle planning, and capital upgrade recommendations.
- Coordinate and monitor rectification works arising from inspections, audits, and service provider reports, ensuring works are completed safely, effectively, and in accordance with contractor management requirements.
- Contribute to lifecycle costing, asset renewal planning, and maintenance forecasting for essential and critical infrastructure assets.
What we’re looking for:
- A relevant qualification in facilities management, asset management, engineering, building services, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, asset information management, or CMMS administration within a complex operational or facilities environment.
- Proven ability to maintain accurate asset and maintenance records and to analyse data to support maintenance planning and service improvement.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear documentation, reports, and stakeholder correspondence.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to support practical, risk-informed maintenance decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,943 comprising base salary within the range of $101,821 to $111,917 plus 17% superannuation.
