We are seeking a highly capable Senior Committees Officer to provide expert committee servicing and management support to the University Council and its committees, including Academic Board and its committees. You will play an important role in supporting the effective operation of decision-making processes through the preparation and coordination of high-quality agendas, minutes, and related documentation.
This is an opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders in a role where your contribution is visible, valued and influential. You will help ensure the University’s governing bodies and committees operate effectively and are supported to make well-informed decisions.
Who you are
You display strong judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to monitor priorities, projects, and initiatives, and provide advice and support to ensure outcomes are achieved. You enjoy working closely with senior stakeholders, and providing timely and professional advice while ensuring compliance with the University’s governance framework. You are able to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive and complex matters.
What you'll do
You will coordinate and support the smooth operation of the University's governance committees, ensuring high-quality committee administration and servicing. In your first 12 months, you will:

Manage the business of Academic Board and its standing committees supporting effective decision-making and communication.

Prepare and coordinate agendas, minutes, committee papers, action registers and related records.

Coordinate governance evaluations and election processes that help shape UniSQ's future.

Prepare reports, briefing papers and governance documentation to support informed decision-making.

Collaborate directly with senior executives, Council members, academic leaders and student representatives.
What will help you succeed
Your significant experience in committee management or a related executive support environment, together with a relevant degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience will position you well for success. You will also bring:

Excellent writing skills with a strong focus on accuracy, clarity and quality.

Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and engage professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Proven discretion, professionalism and integrity when handling confidential and sensitive information

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, recommend solutions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
