The Opportunity
We currently have a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity available for a Head of Client Commitments, Risk, Compliance and Governance to join us in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
This is a senior leadership role and will see you work closely with a number of functions across the firm on all contract negotiations with clients, as well as strategic projects relevant to the Risk, Compliance and Governance function. This role is pivotal to driving strategy and delivering global services in line with the business plan of the Firm. By its nature, this position is a global role ivolving all core projects, it will involve working to local regulatory requirements as required.

We are interested in hearing from people who have:
- Expertise in a wide range of risk management issues faced by global international law firms and experience in dealing with commercial issues pertaining to risk management.
- In-depth expertise in the review and negotiation of contracts, with particular focus on standard contracts drafted by clients when they engage law firms and/or standard contracts drafted by law firms for engagement with clients.
- Understanding of the partnership model and the challenges faced by today's legal industry.
- Proven track record of strategic and/or tactical decision making and negotiation; ability to put an argument across in a clear, articulate way showing sound business acumen to the partnership, senior management or clients of the Firm.
- Discrete and professional in handling sensitive, confidential situations and deals.
- Experienced in dealing with various legal practices regulators in various jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate a team, with commitment to supporting the team as a global function and ability to strengthen those connections globally.
Education and Requirements:
- Legal qualification with strong relevant experience in contract review and negotiation.
- Experience in commercial contracts, compliance and risk management at like-minded firms.
- Experience in assessing and dealing with commercial stakeholder management.
- Working knowledge and ability to use compliance databases.
