all ages. We are growing and seeking an enthusiastic Senior Dental Assistant to
join our friendly team.
About the Role
As an experienced Dental Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-
to-day clinical operations and providing an excellent patient experience. You’ll
support our dentists and hygienists during procedures, maintain high standards of
infection control, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the practice.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail,
and a caring approach to patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Chairside assisting for a wide range of dental procedures.
- Preparing and sterilising instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining strict infection control and safety protocols.
- Providing friendly, professional patient care and support.
- Managing patient records and appointment preparation.
- Assisting with stock control and ordering of dental supplies.
- Assist with Reception duties when required
- Collaborating with the wider dental team to ensure seamless practice operations.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Certificate II or III in Dental Assisting or similar
- At least 5 years previous experience as a Dental Assistant
- Knowledge of GDS, DVA, and CDBS eligibility requirements, claim
- processing, and administration.
- Experience using PRODA and Medicare online services, including patient
- eligibility checks, claims processing, and reporting.
- Proficiency in EXACT dental software, including appointment scheduling,
- treatment charting, patient records management, billing, and reporting
- functions.
- Strong administrative, organisational, and financial management skills, with
- the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dental
- practice environment.
- Demonstrated experience in stock ordering, inventory management, supplier
- coordination, and maintaining adequate clinical and administrative supplies.
- Proven ability to train, mentor, supervise, and support Dental Assistants and
- administrative team members.
- Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, and customer service
- skills.
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach with a high level of professionalism
- and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a
- multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to adapt to
- changing priorities and practice needs.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of workplace health and safety,
- infection control, and patient care.
- Open to work additional hours if required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Spanish would be highly regarded.
