Position: Chef (Full-time)
Annual Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation

Vegetarian Express Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and dedicated full-time Chef to join our team in Craigieburn, Victoria. This role is critical to maintaining our high standards of food quality, kitchen operations, and customer satisfaction.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Planning and developing menus, including creating and updating dishes in line with customer preferences and business needs
· Preparing and cooking a wide range of Indian dishes with consistency and high quality
· Supervising kitchen operations and coordinating food preparation activities
· Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
· Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising kitchen staff on food preparation procedures
· Managing kitchen staff, including training and rostering junior cooks and kitchen hands
· Ensuring compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and workplace health and safety requirements
· Controlling and monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and liaising with suppliers
· Inspecting food supplies to ensure quality and freshness
· Managing food costs, minimising wastage, and maintaining portion control
· Ensuring kitchen equipment is properly maintained and operated safely
· Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment at all times
Position Requirements:
The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
· Hold a Diploma of Hospitality Management or a related qualification
· Have at least 1 year of relevant work experience as a Chef, preferably in Indian cuisine
· Demonstrate advanced knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation
· Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
· Ability to manage kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment
· Experience in supervising and training kitchen staff
· Ability to contribute to menu planning and development
· Strong organisational and communication skills
· Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
· Commitment to long-term employment
